CATAS submitted a Report on Contribution of Tropical Agriculture to World Food Security to FAO. In the report, the importance of tropical agriculture is highlighted. Taking cassava as an example, it is planted in more than 100 countries in the world, and it is the main food crop for more than 1 billion people in the world and is indispensable in global food security. CATAS has brednew cassava varieties with high yield, developed new technologies for green and efficient cultivation, intensive processing, and produced machines for planting and harvesting. CATAS' new varieties and technologies have been demonstrated inNigeria, Tanzania, the Republic of Congo, Uganda etc.and achieved good results. The report suggests to increase cassava's yield and value add by applying modern and suitable technologies,in order to produce more food and increase people's living level.
