The unveiling ceremony of the Overseas Tropical Agriculture Science and Technology Center of CATAS was grandly held at the China-Aid Agricultural Technology Demonstration Center in the Republic of the Congo. This is the first overseas science and technology center of CATAS, jointly unveiled by Paul Valentin NKOBO, Minister of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries of the Republic of the Congo, and Liu Guodao, Vice President of CATAS. A total of 85 representatives from FAO, WFP, IFAD, the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries of the Republic of the Congo, the Chinese Embassy in the Republic of the Congo, CATAS and other institutions attended the unveiling ceremony.
In order to further promote the development of tropical agricultural technology in African countries, CATAS established the Tropical Agriculture Overseas Science and Technology Center, based on the China-Aid Agricultural Technology Demonstration Center in the Republic of the Congo. The center will focus on improving the quality and efficiency of the agricultural industry in the Republic of the Congo and other African countries, for collaborative research, development, demonstration and training on key technologies such as the selection of excellent cassava varieties, high-yield cultivation and processing of tropical fruits, facility cultivation of vegetable and livestock and poultry farming.
